Hyperthyroidism

The production of too much thyroxine hormone, which increases metabolism. Symptoms include unexpected weight loss, rapid heartbeat, sweating, and irritability.

Hypercalcaemia

Most often caused by overactivity in the four tiny parathyroid glands in the neck or occasionally from cancer. Extra calcium in the blood affects multiple bodily systems, leading to fatigue, kidney stones, or bone pain.

Goitre

Goitre (enlargement of the thyroid gland without an increase in thyroid hormone levels) is treated with surgery when it causes obstructive symptoms (difficulty swallowing/breathing) and/or cosmetic concerns.

Endocrine Tumours (Benign or Malignant)

Lumps or growths of abnormal cells. These can be non-cancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant). They require careful assessment to determine if they are hormone-secreting or purely structural.

Cancer Screening

Tests used to detect cancer before symptoms appear, significantly improving the likelihood of successful treatment. This is vital for those with a family history of endocrine disorders.
